About Heizo Takenaka

Heizo Takenaka is the Director of the Global Security Research Institute at Keio University. Professor Takenaka was the former Minister for Internal Affairs & Communications and Minister of Economic/Fiscal Policy under Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi. Professor Takenaka spearheaded significant structural and economic reforms during his tenure, including the expansion and development of Japan's ICT infrastructure.

Professor Takenaka serves on several advisory boards and councils including Pasona, Inc and Academy Hills. He was named a Foundation Board member for the World Economic Forum in 2007 and serves today.

Professor Takenaka received his B.A. from Hitotsubashi University and Ph.D. in Economics from Osaka University. He has been a visiting scholar to Harvard University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
